Yippee! Girlparkour turns three years old! It’s been an honor to highlight the women and men in parkour communities all over the world. 3 years ago, Liv Rowlands, a traceuse from the UK, announced a callout for a Worldwide Traceuse video . 3 years later we are long overdue for a new Worldwide Traceuse video. But this time around we are making it doubly exciting because we can also help spread the word about Girl Effect www.girleffect.org

So what is Girl Effect anyway?

The Girl Effect is about girls and boys and moms and dads and villages and towns and countries. There are 600 million adolescent girls living in poverty in the developing world. By giving one of these girls a chance, you start the girl effect. When girls have safe places to meet, education, legal protection, health care, and access to training and job skills, they can thrive. And if they thrive, everyone around them thrives too.

The idea is that we can create a ripple effect by spreading the word about the women in parkour and about Girl Effect, by making the potential of women known. So without further ado, here’s the worldwide traceuse video brief.

The Worldwide Traceuse video brief

Aims

Celebrate the women in the worldwide parkour community

Action with social impact

Goals

Document the progress of female practitioners worldwide in a compilation video

Raise awareness about girleffect.org

Raise $125 to donate to the charity girleffect.org

What we need

A video of not more than 1 minute 30 seconds to be uploaded to www.sendspace.com

If a group of women are submitting a video collectively, the total video time is proportional to the number of women, i.e. 3 women = 3 X 1.5 minutes = 4.5 minutes total.

Aim to be concise and meaningful. A short video can have more impact than an overly long video.

Themes

Action! -  Something that you’re most proud of having achieved.

Training - The time you spent strengthening, practising and refining your movements.

Community – Videos from an event that you organized or took part in, or aspects of your community or training that epitomize what parkour means to you

Commentary* – Interview style. You can speak about what parkour means to you. Here are some ideas to get you started:

-          How I’ve progressed when practising

-          What does “be strong to be useful” mean to me

-          Why I train

-          Challenges

- For commentaries in languages other than English, please provide a transcript of your speech. The transcript will be translated into English subtitles.

- Commentary videos can be added in addition to your action or training videos because your commentary can be added as a voiceover.

Videos may be edited for continuity and brevity within the overall context.
