The sun was beaming as over 25 smiley faces gathered outside Elephant & Castle tube station for what could have been our last women’s jam at the awesome Heygate Estate.

After a stroll to the estate and soaking up the rays, Blane led a warm-up with joint rotations before introducing a follow-the-leader-type trail that explored different parts of the area. This involved some balancing, climbing, vaults and traversing, a couple of jumps and a few squats for good measure, we ended with a game that involved some off-ground problem solving.

Quite a warm-up.

After a few sips of water, there was no rest for the wicked as Andy led a series of vaulting drills over rails, starting with basics and progressing to more advanced variations. Before the ladies continued to work on their own challenges, that included climb-ups, wallruns, catleaps, vault sequences and off-ground explorations of their own, James kept everyone busy with kong practice.

We’d like to thank Andy, Blane and James who gave up a few hours of their afternoon to help the ladies out, and to the ladies that came down, we look forward to the number of female practitioners growing and to the fun that will be had during this glorious Summer.
