So you’ve arrived in Sydney ready for adventure, but where to start? Here’s some suggestions for some parkour spots, how to contact the locals and seeing those famous sydney landmarks so that you can send those happy holiday snaps to the family back at home!
meet the locals
Parkour classes by the Australian Parkour Association are run every Sunday at Pyrmont Point Park, you can check out the full details here:

You can also check the forums to join weekly training sessions, or to ask local traceurs to meet up!

parkour spots
pyrmont - location of the infamous Wharf Jump . It’s certainly makeable as Julia Kuhn from Germany shows here, but narrow beams and jagged edges leaves little room for error. Sometimes if the weather is good, flips off the wharf into the water is just as fun

darling harbour – the nearby Darling Harbour and Tumbalong Park has some great spots for training, but with the many park rangers patrolling about, it’s a good idea to move along quickly.
bondi beach – you can most definitely do parkour anywhere, so Australia’s most famous beach is no exception! As Josh and Sino demonstrate, there’s treasure to be found at Bondi.

st james cathedral and the domain – tucked away at the side of hyde park is a little gem of a park with rocks, trees and water features to play with.
sightseeing
the Opera House – grab a bus/train/ferry to Circular Quay and walk towards the iconic building with its trademark sails.
royal botanic gardens – keep on walking past the opera house, along the water and towards the domain and you’ll arrive at the gardens. Even if you’re not a fan of flowers, there are flocks of white cockatoos that hang around. These big birds aren’t shy to sit on you for food, but keep your fingers to yourself! http://www.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/
martin place - For the Matrix fans, crowd around the fountain where Keanu Reeves sees the lady in red

bondi beach – It’s the most famous beach in Sydney with some really unbelievably beautiful water! However remember to swim between the flags unless you want to see yourself featured on Bondi Rescue.
eat
pyrmont - Pyrmont Point Park is 1km from the Pyrmont Fish Market , there’s a good selection from fish and chips, sashimi, prawns and if you’re feeling indulgent – lobster with cheese.

bondi beach - If you have cash to burn, check out Icebergs with stunning views off North Bondi http://www.idrb.com/
Gertrude and Alice Cafe Bookstore off the main strip is recommended for its charming and quirky feel. http://www.gertrudeandalice.com.au/
max brenner chocolate bar – this australian brand has outlets everywhere and are famous for their “Suckao” – a concentrated choclate shot, but their white chocolate and strawberry smoothy (and everything else) is equally choco-riffic.
adriano zumbo – not at all related to “zumba”, this delicious patisserie has some of the most imaginative desserts in Sydney.
shopping
oxford street, paddington – lots of local and international brands on this patch of road, I suggest to start from where the Paddington Uniting Church is, and walk downhill. On Saturdays, the church is the location for the Paddington Markets, with a big range of australian made items.

bondi junction – there’s a huge Westfield department store there, but also lots of shops around and a pedestrian arcade. Also… there are parkour spots there (or so I’m told..)

Take the ferry to Manly Beach from Circular Quay. It’s a whole day of fun to be had.
